Yellow Week - Day Seven

Ok last day of yellow week peeps! Seriously I realized that I really don't have that much yellow in my house. Shocking, no? The color week was fun. Would anyone like to do color postings (or pattern postings!!?? like plaid, stripes, checks, or a combination perhaps) in the future? We could make a little game out of it ourselves. It's a great exercise to get you thinking about what is around you. Not too often though, it can be a bit exhausting. Cheers to having a happy week of yellow! And what a cherry chick this little one is!

Yellow Week - Day Six

Getting... harder... to find... yellow... in my... houuusssee.

In the background are our homemade Valentines from this year - more on that later. Give my man some fancy paper, ribbon and a glue gun and you get the best Valentine EVER! One more day of yellow left!

Yellow Week - Day Five

A little late in the day I know, but the yellow cannot be missed. Folded paper lanterns from our wedding, someday I will find a spot to hang them!

Yellow Week - Day Four

Lovely scrapping. Found this lovely lady while I was putting the finishing touches on a custom order crown. She was practically perfect for this little yellow game. Onward Yellow Week!

Yellow Week - Day Three

Yellow is to wear - a favorite yellow and gray shirt. I don't wear a lot of yellow, just a smidge...

Yellow Week - Day Two

More yellow! My very favorite teacup just happens to be yellow. Erika gave this to me for Christmas a couple years ago from Anthropology and it takes permanent residence on a stand outside of any china cabinet in my house. It is so cheery, and those blue birds just make me smile. For everyone who is playing along, Happy Yellow Week!

Yellow Week - Day One

I am playing along with House on Hill Road's Yellow Week this week. As I write it is raining steadily, and I can hear that glorious sound on my open beam ceilings. Even though I love the rain, I am so ready for Spring - it has just been so cold. I know you all can agree with me!

We planted daffodil bulbs in the front yard a couple years ago and none of them ever really came up. This year we have daffodils! Only a couple so far but that's all I need. Yellow is so cheery! Oh Spring, I am so looking forward to you.

The Start Of Something Good...

It was a hit! The crown I made as an alumni donation to the Vista High School art auction was a success. Several people wanted it, bid on it, and I already have two custom orders to start on.
I was totally happy that the person who won it is someone I don't know. Hopefully I can start something fun here, and maybe make a little profit:) One of the ladies I am making one for next wanted one for her woman's bible study. When each of the woman's birthdays come along she wants to have the crown for the birthday girl to wear, which I am sure will turn into a super fun tradition for them. I thought that was an awesome idea and I am realizing that these crowns are definitely not just for little girls. When I saw my former art teacher there she said "You could seriously go into business with those things. People really like the crown." I said "You know, I have have a mind to!" I definitely do plan to make more of these and put them on etsy, but I am not really sure what to charge for them. I valued the one I made for the auction at $50, but I really just picked a number because I had no clue. I was thinking maybe between $50 and $75? They are handmade and each one is totally unique. What do you think?
